Effective Microorganisms (EM)

Effective microorganisms commonly abbreviated as EM-4-4 is a mixed culture which some microorganisms can be used as a microbial inoculant that functions as a means of biological control. Such microorganisms in the environment to function as a suppressor of plant growth and pest and disease control.
EM-4 contains several major microorganisms photosynthetic bacteria, lactic acid bacteria, yeasts (yeast), Actinomycetes and yeast fermentation
1. Photosynthetic bacteria (Rhodopseudomonas spp.) This bacterium is a microorganism independent and self-sufficiency. These bacteria form a useful compounds of the secretion of plant roots, organic matter and harmful gases with sunlight and heat the earth as an energy source. Beneficial substances that are formed between other amino acids nucleic acids, bioactive substances and sugars are all working to accelerate growth The result of this metabolism can be directly absorbed by plants and serves as a substrate for other microorganisms so that the growing number
2. Lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus spp.) Can lead to sterility (Sterilizer) therefore these bacteria can suppress the growth of harmful microorganisms, improve acceleration revamp organic materials; destroy organic materials such as lignin and cellulose and memfermentasikannya without causing toxic compounds generated from the decay of organic bacteria can suppress the growth of fusarium, which is detrimental to the menimbukan mikroorganime disease in land / crops are planted continuously.
3. Yeast / Yeast (Saccharomyces spp.)
Through the process of fermentation, yeast produce compounds useful for plant growth from amino acids and sugars released by photosynthetic bacteria or organic matter and plant roots. Yeasts also produce bioactive substances such as hormones and enzymes to increase the number of active cells and root development. Secretion Yeast is a good substrate lactic acid bacteria and Actinomycetes
4. Actinomycetes
Actinomycetes produce anti-microbial substances produced from the amino acid photosynthetic bacteria. Anti-substance-these microbes suppress the growth of fungi and bacteria.
Actinomycetes coexist with photosynthetic bacteria together menongkatkan soil environmental quality by increasing anti-microbial activity of soil.
5. Mushroom Fermentation
Fermentation fungus (Aspergillus and Penicilium) outlines the material rapidly to produce alcohol, esters and antimicrobial substances. The growth of this fungus helps eliminate odors and prevent invasion of insects and caterpillars harm by eliminating its food supply.
Each species of microorganisms have their respective functions but most are photosynthetic bacteria which EM activities as most important. These bacteria are in addition to supporting the activities of other microorganisms, he also utilizes substances produced by other microorganisms.
In general, the benefits of EM technology in agriculture-4 is as follows:
1.FIX  nature of biological, physical and chemical properties
2.
Increase crop production and maintain a stable production
3.
Ferment and accelerate soil organic matter decomposition
4.
Produce quality and quantity of agricultural produce environmentally friendly
5.
Increase diversity of beneficial microbes in the soil
Application of EM Technology-4
EM_4 cultured in liquid medium brown in a dormant condition.
When sprayed into the soil or plant body (the process of inoculation) EM-4 is actively fermenting organic matter (plant residues, green manure, manure etc.)
Results of fermentation can be absorbed directly by plant roots, such as sugar, alcohol, amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates and other organic compounds
In addition, EM-4 stimulates the development of plant beneficial microorganisms; protect plants from disease attack and ultimately to enrich the soil, improving crop productivity with minimal cost
